Do you remember your grandpa? He had a perfect shave and all he ever used was that single blade razor. These days, razors have become complicated. With vibrating handles, flash lights and 4 blades that apparently cuts better. All of this is marketing rubbish making us consume more than we need.
From a recycling perspective, the issue is that the normal razor blades have combination of many materials such as plastic, rubber and metal stuck together. And impossible to recycle at the end of life due to how it's manufactured.

Make sure to carefully dry the razor and blade after use, using a towel. Razor blades can be put inside a safety razor disposal box then tape up the slit when full. And put the whole disposal box in metal recycling bin. Due to high temperatures of metal recycling, the plastic tape or any tape used to seal the slit will automatically be burned and evaporated. Leaving only the pure metal behind.
