Ellie Jackson is a Cornish based bestselling environmental children’s author and has written a series of children's picture books which highlight the problems of plastic in our oceans.
There are four Wild Tribe Heroes books in total - Nelson's Dangerous Dive, Marli's Tangled Tale, Duffy's Lucky Escape and Buddy's Rainforest Rescue.
The books are beautifully they explain this problem to primary and preschool aged children. The third book Nelson’s Dangerous Dive is about a whale who gets trapped in fishing nets. A true and gentle story about the global problem of ghost fishing nets and ocean plastic, highlights to children the relationship between humans and wildlife and the dangers animals face in their own natural habitats.
The Wild Tribe Heroes series of books guides young readers through the issues in a gentle and friendly way together with further information to inspire children to make changes to their own and their families lives such as going plastic free.
The Wild Tribe Heroes books have received personal letters of congratulations from Sir David Attenborough and Prince Charles who are both extremely concerned about the issue of ocean plastics and are doing everything they can to help raise awareness. The books have been featured on the BBC, in The Guardian, Mail on Sunday and Huffington Post as well as numerous local newspapers, radio and TV and also featured in international podcasts, blogs and press.
